Smoking different meats

I'm kind of new to smoking (been grilling for too many years to count). I've smoked pork butts and whole chickens. My question is, what's the secret to smoking different meats at the same time?

You can do this! The trick is in the planning. Start the meat that takes the longest first. Check the temperature of your smoker during the process. Put the next meat in when you have that much time left from the first meat. For instance, Start your pork ribs, let them cook for 3 hours and then add your whole chickens. I hope this makes sense!
