When your wife wants stew meat

Well I must say I went a little crazy . I wanted to make a stew so I cooked a 6 lb roast on the smoker. Its a sirloin roast and its the first time attempting this type of cook, when I started the prep all I remember thinking is this is going to be a hard cook. I was completely wrong.

This was cooked at 300 degrees for 3 hours to get to 120 internal.

I never get a chance to throw our stew meat on the grill. My wife uses the slow cooker for soups and stews. I can't complain, though. We return from work to a hearty meal with little fuss. Whatever gets it done.

A nice slow cooked stew is good but a stew with slow roasted lightly smoked meat is way better

I have never tried stew meat on the grill. It sounds interesting, and it sure looks good. How did it turn out? Was it nice and juicy?

I've smoked many cuts of beef. It's delicious! I have never used the smoked roast for stew meat. That's a great idea. I bet it totally changed up the flavoring of the stew. I think grilling the vegetables versus sautéing them would change it up too.

Totally! Grilling vegetables gives them a whole new level of flavor! I like sautéed veggies too, but when they are grilled, wow!
@Rich, that meat looks pretty yum! What did you season it with?
